SAFEJAWZ Named Official Mouthguard Partner of Kickboxing GB

SAFEJAWZ has become the exclusive Official Mouthguard Partner of Kickboxing GB in a new two-year partnership. It makes us Kickboxing GB’s first official sponsor and marks our first major partnership with a national governing body.

A big milestone for us. But milestones are only interesting if you do something with them.

The partnership officially got underway at the GB Squad Training Camp at Lilleshall National Sports Centre July 2026, with athletes from Tatami, Ring Sports and Forms preparing for international competition.

We were there with a simple idea. Stay available.
The performance metric nobody puts on the scoreboard.

Speed. Power. Timing. Fitness. Recovery. Athletes spend years working on the things that make them better. At Lilleshall, SAFEJAWZ co-founder Ewan Jones asked the squad to think about something more basic.

Availability.
Available to train.
Available to spar.
Available to compete.
Available when the opportunity you’ve worked for finally turns up.

You can’t control everything in sport. You can control how you prepare. That includes your protective equipment.

Protection is not about being cautious. It is about staying available. Available to train. Available to spar. Available to compete. Available to take the opportunities you’ve earned.

Competition day is a bad time for surprises

A mouthguard can look perfectly fine in your kit bag. Your fifth hard round is a slightly better test. At Lilleshall, Ewan demonstrated how to fit a mouthguard properly and what athletes should check before they rely on it.

A properly fitted mouthguard should stay securely over the upper teeth without needing to be held in place by biting down. Athletes should still be able to breathe, speak and focus on what’s happening in front of them. So don’t fit it the night before a competition and hope for the best.

Fit it early.
Train in it.
Test it when you’re tired.
Know how it feels when the pace goes up.

And when competition matters, have a spare ready.

Fit it. Test it. Then trust it.

We started because mouthguards needed to be better

SAFEJAWZ was created by George Dyer and Ewan Jones after their own experiences in sport left them asking a fairly obvious question:

Why were so many mouthguards such a pain to wear?

Bulky. Uncomfortable. Difficult to fit. Something athletes put up with because they had to. George and Ewan believed protection could work harder for the person wearing it. A mouthguard could fit properly, feel comfortable and let athletes concentrate on their performance instead of the thing in their mouth.

That frustration became SAFEJAWZ.

We’ve grown since then. The reason we’re here hasn’t changed. Which is why this partnership matters. It puts us back where the product belongs: around athletes, coaches, training sessions and competition. Not just on a sponsor board.

From first combinations to the GB squad

The national squad gets the attention. The work starts a long way before it. Then come national camps.

Selection.
International competition.
Pulling on GB kit.

SAFEJAWZ will support that pathway with mouthguard stock at selected camps and championships, practical fitting advice, education around fit, care and preparation, athlete and championship coverage, and recognition of Kickboxing GB competitors’ achievements. Because putting two logos next to each other is easy.

Making the partnership useful is the point. Small standards. Big moments.

At Lilleshall, athletes were preparing for the Children’s and Juniors’ Championships in September and the Adult Championships in November. Across two days, they trained with Kickboxing GB’s national coaches and took part in development sessions focused on preparing for international competition.

Those big moments are built on plenty of very unglamorous ones.

Clean kit.
Tested kit.
Mouthguard fitted.
Spare packed.

Nothing there is going on a highlight reel.

The point is making sure it’s handled before the things that do matter begin.

Over the next two years, we’ll be alongside Kickboxing GB athletes on and off the mats, supporting their progress and helping raise standards around mouthguard fit, preparation and use across the sport.

It’s a major step for SAFEJAWZ. Now we make it count.
